India~ India's Orissa - A Land Lost in time Call for dates and prices back to India overview page MAP The state of Orissa on India’s eastern coast is a splendid jewel lost in time and largely overlooked by the world. Suprisingly, Orissa provides a wealth of unique and compelling travel experiences including some of the world’s most authentic traditional tribal groups, numerous ancient shrines and temples representing nearly all of the great religions and one of the finest tiger sanctuaries in all of India. Lost Frontiers now offers an exciting new program never before experienced that takes you to the very center of this little known world. Lead by Barbara Wagner, who helped pioneer tribal travel here and in West Africa, you will visit remote tribal societies who, up to the time of her reconnaissance, have been off limits to most outsiders. You will also explore the hills and forests of a pristine wilderness to see tigers and elephants in their natural habitat. And throughout the visit, you will witness thousands of years of history manifest in beautiful ancient temples, forts and shrines.
